Saturn Ring Blues

The new "The Day Job" article is up at The Fix On-Line.  This one is on "Rookie Mistakes."

I've been writing the column now for one year.  This is my thirteenth article.  The table of contents looks like this:

Being Professional
Finding the Time
Growth, Learning, and the Search for Teachers
Generating Hard Science Fiction Ideas Painlessly
Writing Thoughts to Contemplate
Get Out of the House
Quitting It
Carpe Penicullus
InterNetTion
Making a Writing Group Work
Convention Dos and Don'ts
On Establishing a Personal Canonical Collection of Short Stories
Rookie Mistakes

If you've been reading them, do you have a favorite?  Do you have suggestions for articles that you would like to see?

Hey, looking forward to reading the new article!

By the way, the link for the article has a typo, and breaks....

Thanks for pointing that out. It's fixed now. It's the only one I didn't cut and paste, of course.

No problem. Good article by the way. I'm in one of those places right now that you talked about, and have been working my way out of it. I published the first time one year, two months ago. Some of the things you recommended I've already done. Others, I need to ponder on.

Thanks,

Guerry

I thought about this conversation several times lately, and your comments about follow-on sales, etc. in your "Rookie Mistakes" article.

Then yesterday, and today, some things came about...and I posted about the good news: http://gsemones.livejournal.com/16209.html

Thanks for the encouragement Jim! Consider it a successful pay forward....

(B) Do you have suggestions for articles that you would like to see?

A) No favorites but I want to thank you for writing these very informative columns. They have helped to improve my writing from beginner’s dreck to WotF honorable mention. Again, thank you.

B) How about a 12-step program to good writing habits?
