Asimov's has posted its preliminary Nebula ballot stories online.  You can read my "How Music Begins" there for free, along with six other Nebula-nodded stories.

In case you missed it, dzumsteg has a fun story called "Slotting," that riffs off "How Music Begins."  If you've ever been to (or thought about going to) Clarion or any writing workshop, you'll find the story interesting.
